Job Description
Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers, is looking to recruit a Materials Technician to provide a stores and inventory management service to the Power Station and fleet. The Materials Technician will provide a professional stores service, which includes maintaining receipts, correct storage, issuing and auditing of all materials required by the stations. The role also includes inputting and searching of data on the workflow / stock management system. Main responsibilities: * Accountable to the Materials Controller for maintaining records, receipts and stock checks, providing a professional and consistent stores service. * Correct storage of goods, to minimise deterioration and ensure safe handling of hazardous items * Assist in planning deliveries, i.e. Outage spares, to ensure availability of materials * Co-ordination with Buyers and other stakeholders * Good housekeeping - ensuring the stores is an environmentally safe place to work. * Stock audits - accuracy of records - report to Materials Controller Skills and experience required: The post holder will demonstrate * Stock control, correct receipt, handling, storage and issuing of materials * Understand the use of the IT system and the policy and procedures relating to stores * Safe operation of a full range of lifting and handling vehicles and equipment, including; forklifts where trained to do so. * COSHH - understand and application of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, relating to stock items * Checking for obsolete stock * Stock Checking * Dispatch parcels for post
