Country: United Kingdom Location: Southampton Function: Operations Level: Experienced Professional Appointment Type: Permanent To ensure the material requirements are achieved to support the short to medium term factory production plan ensuring strategic business objectives are met and long term customer services guaranteed. The MaterialExecutive works in close relationship with Materials Planning Manager, Materials Commodity Manager, NPI and Production Planners. Involved in cross functional project teams etc to ensure that the materials supply plan meets the factory requirements while considering Global and Regional Procurement strategies and achieving the optimal cost. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Operations/ Professional/ Business * Place materials purchase orders/contracts in-line with supplier leadtimes to meet multiple factory production plan requirements in SAP system. * Maintain target stock levels within the factory. * Arrange delivery of materials with the supplier to the factory and where necessary resolve any logistics issues. Input master data into SAP system for new materials. * To work with the Production Planning team when a material shortage is identified to ensure the issue is resolved quickly with minimum impact to the factory. * Working with other teams and departments to implement the phasing in and out of new/old materials as part of a controlled process (achieving agreed deadlines with minimum cost). * Principal point of contact for the supplier with regards to business for the factory. * Resolve supplier invoicing issues by working with the Factory Finance team. 2. Relationships * Maintain and build excellent working relationships with our Suppliers and exchange of information to ensure effective processes are developed. * Internal stakeholder management is fundamental to the future development of the Supply function. * Regular communication with Finance for supplier invoice payment, materials costing etc. * Regional Procurement for materials price and understanding the future strategies which in turn could impact our supplier footprint. * Daily contact with Suppliers to ensure material purchase orders is delivered on time and in full and that a long term relationship is developed with the supplier to drive business process improvements. * As an Executive, there will be a factory facing SPOC responsibilty to manage the day to day relationship with production and scheduling teams. Essential requirements * Awareness of materials planning and purchasing methods. * Good organizational and communication skills are essential. * Understanding of Supply Chain principles. * Self-motivating with the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure. Desirable requirements * Good negotiating and influencing skills supported by rational decision making. * Knowledge of operational systems and procedures (forecasting, MRP, BOM, etc) with a good appreciation of other related functions (Customer Services, Production Scheduling and Production Planning).
