Company Description Overview Specialist role Designer Summary of the work Lead Service Designer required to design, prototype and build a fully digital, public services that change lives. Latest start date August 2016 Expected contract length 4-6 months Region East Midlands Organisation the work is for Office of the Public Guardian Job Description About the work Who the specialist will work with Working with A Product Owner and User Researcher What the specialist will work on Working with the product owner and user researchers, model an alpha service for a digital product that can be used as a proof of concept to show stakeholders how we can build a secure, user-centric digital solution without putting people at risk. This should include, but is not limited to, appraising and incorporating technical solutions used by other service providers, including services built by GDS. The successful candidate must be able to articulate their decisions at board level and be able to present the alpha service to senior stakeholders Work setup Address where the work will take place Nottingham or Birmingham Working arrangements onsite in either Nottingham or Birmingham at least 3 days a week with freedom to work from home for the other 2 days Security clearance Standard DBS or Disclosure Scotland clearance Qualifications Skills and experience Essential skills and experience * Experience of sketching and prototyping on paper and in HTML * Demonstrable experience of explaining design ideas and concepts in a way that other people understand * Demonstrable experience of how to interpret user research * Demonstrable experience on how form and function work together * Experience of removing complexity from services * Experience writing for user interfaces * Experience of assessing a service * Demonstrable knowledge of how the internet works * Experience of leading design workshops * Experience of working in a fast paced agile environment * Experience of negotiating important design decisions successfully with senior stakeholders Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
