Job Description

This is an important role which offers the opportunity to contribute to the provision of high quality business intelligence to support the Trust providing the best care for our patients. The business intelligence developer is a keymember of the business intelligence team who will have responsibility for developing reporting solutions for clinical, operational and administrative staff. A key element of this role is ensuring people have the right information available for resolution of business issues. The post holder will be enthusiastic and experienced in using a variety of IT systems and their associated processes to deliver high quality information. Excellent team working and a keen eye for detail is essential. We are looking for an approachable, quick thinking, and well organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills who can work in a challenging, dynamic and fast moving environment. What we look for: The successful candidate will have: * A graduate degree in a computing or information field, or equivalent relevant experience with evidence of on-going personal and professional development. * Advanced knowledge and experience in reporting processes and tools * Demonstrable experience of healthcare informatics analytics with in-depth knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements, NHS data standards and definitions. * Excellent numeracy, analytical and interpretive reporting skills with a structured, diagnostic approach to finding solutions to complex data issues. * Excellent communication skills - written and verbal (including presentation skills) - able to identify key points from complex issues and explain them appropriately and with clarity. * A flexible and organised approach with proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multi task. Who we are: The Business Intelligence team reports the Trusts performance against the national standards, leads on compliance with national returns, and provides analytic support to the Clinical and Corporate divisions and Executive teams. It also maintains the reporting tool used within the Trust. The team includes the technical team to maintain and build the software tools that underpin the Business Intelligence provision, the Business Intelligence Analysts team and the Clinical Coding team.
