Job Description

As an experienced Technical Author you will bring a wealth of knowledge to this key project. Ideally we are looking for someone with a demonstrable background in the IT/Telecoms field who will understand the technology and terminology we operate in. Role Profile Drive a culture based on nuclear safety and quality throughout the project, acting as a role model for the internal team and external interfaces. Typical Deliverables * System design and project documentations at all levels * Handover and Operations and Maintenance documentation Responsibilities * Prepare and maintain project document templates to ensure consistency * Treating high level design documentation from customer requirements * Ensure documentation adheres to the relevant legislation and project quality standards * Producing technical documentation to meet the projects quality requirements * Producing systems design documentation for any aspect of the project * Gathering, organising and documenting required system details * Review documents and materials submitted by design engineers for clarity, punctuation, grammar, and content, in readiness to be submitted to suppliers/client * Solving complex problems and taking a pragmatic perspective to provide working solutions * Communicating documentation production progress and risk * Taking part in planning and design activities with the team * Taking part in periodic project reviews * Supporting team ownership and collaborative culture from end to end * Addressing client comments on documents as required Business Operations Skills " Experience * Working as a Technical Author within an engineering project environment * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Good client facing skills * Working with complexity and change Business Operations Skills -Qualifications * Degree / HND / HNC in Engineering / Computer related subject or equivalent in an appropriate discipline is desirable. Depth and breadth of experience will be considered where these qualifications have not been attained. * Experienced at advanced level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio Behavioural Requirements Along with telent employee behaviours, these additional behaviours are required for HPC: * Demonstrating that safety and nuclear safety, is the first consideration.
