Job Description

As an Enterprise Architect on this flagship critical project you will be responsible for ensuing consistency and coordination of Design across all technical disciplines. Role Profile Drive a culture based on nuclear safety and quality throughout the project, acting as a role model for the internal team and external interfaces. * Responsible for the technical system integration delivering telecommunications solutions within a nuclear environment. This is a multi-disciplined role and will include: * Installation Design * System Engineering * Electrical Design * Production of CAD drawings * Equipment Qualification * Proof of Concept Engineering Typical Deliverables * Implements activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the IT and Communications systems architectural models * Advises, recommends and implements as appropriate enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies. * Manage Interdisciplinary Design Review process and ensure all design deliverables comply with quality standards * Provide guidance and support to designer engineers building relationships with key stakeholders. * Ensure BOMs are produced and standardised where possible against design packs. * Escalate risks and issues that may affect delivery of HPC project or impact on Interfacing Organisations; * Ensure consistency in standards and processes across all technologies * Report delays and changes to workstreams to ensure resource is accurately forecast * Provides information to enable the compilation of monthly performance and progress report for all workstreams around responsibility * Identify equipment forecast (inventory and non-inventory) to ensure continuity of supply * Identify designs that will enable the implementation of good nuclear safety and quality practices * Identify initiatives within the organisation to continually improve the operations performance, the quality of delivery, and our focus on nuclear safety and quality practices in the environment we work Responsibilities * Researches IT and Communications systems on the market for client technical requirements and end-user business needs. * Direct the IT and Communications systems architecture activities * Ensure technical alignment of IT and Communications system * Shares best practices, lessons learned and updates the technical system architecture as required. * Implement the strategy for the development of IT and Communications systems architecture work and collaborates with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the contract requirements * Liaise with system designers to identify design requirements and ensure a smooth process is in place for agreeing outline and detailed designs with scheme designers; * Ensure that all designs are produced in line with contractual statutory compliance regulations and procedures and promote best practice and continuous improvement in nuclear safety and quality. * Ensure all documentation is issued to the delivery teams to ensure site documentation reflects accurate requirements; * Provide technical support to the Project and Delivery teams * Identify areas for innovation and continuous improvement. Business Operation Skills " Experience * Demonstrable success leading design function in a safety or mission critical environment * Knowledge of working in a highly regulated and safety critical environment, such as nuclear * Ability to work in a cross functional / matrix environment * Excellent team working skills * Strong man management skills * Collaborative approach to working internally and with other stakeholders * Ability to work under pressure * Financial and commercial awareness * Working Knowledge of Nuclear Safety legislation and how this is applied, monitored and improved within a safety critical or mission critical environment * Experience in Designing Optical transmission networks. Business Operation Skills " Qualifications * Tertiary level of education in ICT / Telecoms or similar * Knowledge of CDM 2015 Requirements * Excellent problem solver. * Commercial and financial awareness applied to design management * SC Clearance Behavioural Requirements Along with telent employee behaviours, these additional behaviours are required for HPC: Demonstrating that safety and nuclear safety, is the first consideration.
