If you're looking for a new opportunity, and want to join the world's greatest football family, we are currently looking to recruit a full time Head Chef , based at our Melwood Training Ground . The Role: As Head Chef you will be required to oversee the day to day running of the kitchen operation whilst providing the highest standard of food and service.You will deliver this through motivational leadership, innovation, system compliance and financial performance. You will work closely with all Melwood stakeholders to ensure the quality of food and its presentation is consistently delivered to the highest possible standards. You will also ensure your team understand the vision for the operation and how they directly influence its achievement. In this role you will also have the following responsibilities: * Creation of new and exciting menus in line with our nutritional philosophy * People management - the post-holder will lead and inspire all team members to contribute to the success of the Melwood catering team and the travelling catering team * Ensure the best ingredients are sourced and used to produce the highest standards of food * To meet and exceed where possible the food cost of sales budget through accurate menu control, smart ordering systems and rigorous stock control * To ensure all the food service team are trained to the LFC standard, in the Liverpool way and in the most current standards in line with relevant legislation * To manage the purchase order and invoice approval systems ensuring all documentation is submitted within the agreed timescales * To manage the kitchen payroll costs in line with forecasted business levels ensuring budgets are met at all times * To write and agree menu specifications / dietary requirements for the 1st Team ensuring all of the food service team adhere to the agreed specs therefore achieving a high level of consistency * To ensure that food hygiene, COSHH and due diligence systems are complied with at all times, reporting issues to the Executive Head Chef as required The Person The successful candidate for this role will have the ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, people management experience is also essential for this role as is the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining professionalism. Candidates should have demonstrable nutritional experience working in a similar role.Experience of working in an elite sports environment is highly desirable. T&C: This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week on a 5 out of 7 day basis - flexibility is essential due to changes in in football training schedules and requirements to attend pre-season tours / European travel as directed.
