Job Description
THE ROLE I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Associate Quantity Surveyor to join a go-ahead firm of PQS in the Milton Keynes area. There will be some flexibility in the role with the possibility of sometimes working based from home. You will be able to work on projects across a number of different sectors and work with a range of clients. Projects include warehousing, logistics centres, retail, offices, data centres etc. THE COMPANY My client is a firm of construction consultants with two UK offices and one in Europe and expanding due to expanding workload. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Associate QS ideally MRICS qualified or "qualified by experience". You will need experience of all pre and post contract work. You must be able to run your own projects from inception to completion. Experience of private sector projects is essential and any experience of data centres, warehousing, logistics centres, offices would be preferred. You will have experience of doing feasibility, estimates and detailed cost plans and be able to evaluate costs and advise on alternatives. You will be able to provide advice on procurement and contracts and be able to manage the procurement process. You will also have good post contract skills and be able to negotiate final accounts. You must have good communication skills, both written and spoken, be able to handle projects without supervision including running meetings and dealing with clients. You should have a stable work record and you will need to have been working for a firm of private practice quantity surveyors or multi discipline consultants to have the right experience. Salary is from £50000 to £70000 plus bonus, pension, health insurance, professional fees and generous holidays.
