Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Commissioning Mechanical Engineer for a NORSOK project in Singapore. The person will contribute to a timely completion, based on safety and quality, of the Mechanical Commissioning related activities of the new Topside Project. This includes work preparations and planning as well as participation in commissioning and start-up reviews during design phase, through to follow up on supplier packages and further to supervision and guidance of the Contractor's mechanical completion efforts and the execution of commissioning and start-up activities. The Engineer shall bring specialist skills from Rotating Equipment as example Pumps/Compressors and be competent in all work associated with the assigned objects at both Contractor Eng Office, at the Suppliers premises, at the Construction field offices and yard as well as offshore. Start date for employment: 01 Sep 2014 End date for employment: 25 Dec 2016 Reporting to: Commissioning Process Mech Lead Workplace: London / Singapore / Offshore (London for commissioning preparations and PO follow up until mob at site - Singapore, then offshore) * Responsible for Commissioning of Mechanical related systems of the topside project through detailed design, FAT`s, construction, onshore and offshore commissioning phases. * Ensure that HSE is implemented during planning and execution of all commissioning work. * Follow up on commissioning performance and make recommendation for appropriate mitigation actions if needed. * Provide commissioning input into the design and execution activities. * Ensure that commissioning requirements are properly evaluated and requested as a part of the evaluation criteria and masking for all relevant procurement items. * Assist with follow-up of supplier packages and participate in FAT's. * Developing of commissioning procedures together with discipline engineers and operations personnel. * Define necessary test equipment, temporaries, tools and commissioning spare parts. * Follow-up MC activities assuring contractor meet the project handover schedule. * Be a good contributor for a satisfactory working environment between company and contractor organization on construction site. * Monitor and control commissioning performance and start-up work assuring they meet commissioning plan requirements. * Coordinate contractor support on commissioning and start-up activities. * Ensure continuously update of commissioning procedure and PIMS CMS as commissioning activities are carried out. * Perform handover to platform operation organisation. * Providing operations start-up support and assistance Qualifications Education: * University degree or equivalent within engineering & construction * Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience * Fluent in English, oral and written. Preferably knowledge to a Scandinavian language. Experience: * Min 10 - 15 years relevant experience from offshore/chemical projects/facilities, preferably designed to North Sea. * Working knowledge of relevant regulations, standard and industry practice such as NORSOK. * Project experience and familiarity with typical offshore industry project execution models. * Preferably experience from intercultural projects, and working experience with SE Asian Contractors * Experience of Mechanical Rotating Equipment * Proficient in the use of PIMS CMS completion management system Additional Information * HSE awareness and commitment to excellent safety performance * Self-motivated, team player with strength to execute. * Good communication and collaborative skills.
