Overview

About the role We are looking for an innovative Commissioning Service Manager in Children and Families, where you will be responsible for leading on all aspects of commissioning and service design for children and young people. The division will be at the center of children's services in Surrey, driving change and innovation with a relentless focus on improving outcomes. At the heart of what we aim to achieve is the ambition to develop a deeper understanding of our communities, and the challenges they face but also recognise their strengths, assets and aspirations and look to work with them to improve outcomes for children. This role will have specific focus on domestic abuse . This is a critical priority for the County Council. The role will lead the partnership response to operationalising the domestic abuse strategy in the County. This will involve working with voluntary, community and faith sector partners developing collaborative commissioning approaches and ensuring that the expertise in the sector is both nurtured and maximised. The role will operate in a complex environment and will have a tri-partite reporting structure - working across the NHS, SCC and community safety. You will have a strong back ground in partnership working, understanding the drivers and demands of the three agencies and how their resources can be brought together in new and innovative ways to respond to domestic abuse. You will be a future-focused individual with the ability to suggest and communicate effectively your ideas for new ways of working that will provide high-quality services, which offer good value for money and provide a long-lasting positive legacy. You will have the ability to work in partnership to commission evidence-based models of support and achieve our objectives. Alongside your detailed understanding and experience of commissioning including a proven working knowledge of domestic abuse, you will also need a strong knowledge of service design, procuring services and monitoring service/ market developments to name a few. You will also have a thorough working knowledge of your operating environment, which is both fast-paced and focused on continuous improvement, with a commitment to upholding best practice and standards. You will do this by providing effective leadership for the teams under your care that are supportive and innovative, developing their skills and abilities to be the best they can be.
