Company Description PowerOn Media is the new name of the Backstage UK Creative Group, why the change you ask. Well as the group is moving into better and bigger things we thought why not refresh our image, have a more catchy name and also invest in a better website. Over the next month and year you will be seeing a lot more content from us, with the introduction of new publications, vlogs and podcasts. We pride ourselves in getting the best people to move the group forward, from presenters, writers and even back office staff we certainly have the right people for the job. If you would like to join us, even if its only for a month or two get in touch Job Description In this role at #AvGeeks, you'll be obtaining information and writing stories. This may cover all types of stories in the world of travel and aviation, if you have prior knowledge in these subjects this would be ideal by but not essential. You'll be part of our content development team and work closely with our Social Media Officer, Nadine Reading. Typical activities in the position can include writing articles in the publication's house styles, taking part in the reviewing of products given to us to test and write articles on, conducting interviews using a range of methods, generating and using initiative to write stores, sourcing images that are suitable for articles written and keeping up to date on current trends and development in their chosen topic. Writers will get the chance to attend press events to do with the travel and aviation industry, more information on this will be given after the candidate is successful. Qualifications You should be passionate about writing, getting your content to as many people as possible and also follow other blogs / writers in the same or similar field. You should also have at least a C in English Language to apply for this role. Additional Information This role does not provide any pay (we are constantly working on getting funding) however we give you the chance to get press passes to attend some pretty amazing events (such as EGX and MCM Comic Con). We also aim to give you as much experience in writing for a well known online publication.
