ViiV Healthcare was created as a joint venture by Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline in November 2009 with both companies transferring their HIV assets to the new company. In 2012 Shionogijoined the company. 76.5% of the company is now owned by GlaxoSmithKline, 13.5% by Pfizer and 10% by Shionogi. ViiV is committed to pediatric HIV drug development and is looking for a leader with the same passion for delivering new medicines to children. Our vision is that ViiV Healthcare should stand out as the company in pediatric HIV. We are committed to developing age-appropriate formulations and fixed dose combination medicines to support optimal treatment for HIV positive infants, children and adolescents. We take a collaborative approach with external partners to improve treatment strategies and ensure access for infants, children and adolescents to ViiV HC medicines globally. Key responsibilities include: * Leading the multi-functional, global Pediatric Medicine Development Team (MDT) responsible for delivery of the ViiV pediatric portfolio of products * Proactively directing medicine development strategy and plans for pediatric products from PIP/PSP creation to post-marketing pediatric requirements and pediatric regulatory approvals * Delivering pediatric development plans for all late phase ViiV products through leadership of the Pediatric Medicine Development Team * Contributing to the development of the global strategy for pediatric products * Interfacing with Senior Management, internal and external stakeholders to articulate and drive the Pediatric Medicine Development Strategy * Interfacing with other key functions during the development program such as External Affairs to ensure alignment on strategy and project delivery timelines * Managing prioritisation of pediatric development options to effectively manage the budget * Utilizing organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to facilitate successful project progression and effective issue resolution Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: * Physician ( MD or equivalent), PhD, or PharmD with fellowship/training in Infectious Diseases and/or 5 plus years of experience in pediatric clinical development and/or pediatric clinical trials execution in Infectious diseases Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: * 10 plus years in drug development or pediatric clinical trials experience * Expertise in HIV drug development * Superior clinical skills and judgment * Excellent leadership capabilities and skills in leading matrix teams representing diverse regional and functional perspectives * Understanding of establishing and executing an entire pediatric drug development strategy, from formulation development to pediatric regulatory submissions * Good interpersonal relationship building/maintenance * Successful history of facilitation and leadership skills to maximize performance and to deliver on deadlines. * Demonstration of effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills Why ViiV Healthcare?
