Job Description
On behalf of my client we are recruiting for a Residential Child Care Worker for the Southampton area. You must have a Secondary Education or be willing to work towards Diploma level 3 in Health and Social care Children and young people. You must have a minimum of 12 months experience of work or volunteering with children and young people or vulnerable young adults. Desirable Childcare qualification - NVQ / Diploma level 3 health and social care, children and young people equivalent You must be able to provide advice, assistance and support to young people, safeguarding their welfare at all times. To attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. To act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with young people to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential. Take responsibility for a young person and ensuring that their needs are fully met. Understanding the role of safeguarding young people in their care. Establishing relationships which young people perceive to be positive, warm and rewarding. Providing advice, assistance and support on a 1:1 basis to enable young people to address past and present difficulties. Providing emotional support at times of difficulty or stress. The salary is £24,000 which includes 10 sleeps per month.
