An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional person who wants to play an important role in helping Wakefield residents fulfil their potential and forge better futures. Wakefield Council's Adult Education Service is looking to appoint an exceptional manager to provide strategic leadership to support the business development, commercialisation and career and progression delivery of the service and support us on our journey to 'outstanding'. You will lead a team of Careers Information Advice and Guidance Officers as well as managing the Business Development Team and others involved in developing commercial opportunities for the Service. Reporting to the Assistant Head of Service you will be responsible for achieving our ambitious targets, resulting in improved employability options and careers & enterprise education across the district. You will also contribute to the development of future priorities and be involved in securing the required resources to successfully deliver these priorities. The person With a key role to play in the Employment and Skills agenda for the Council you will need a detailed knowledge and understanding of local, regional and national skills and careers policy. Experience and an understanding of Ofsted and the Education and Skills Funding Agency requirements for development of employment and skills programmes is essential. You will have demonstrable experience of building excellent networks across organisations to influence their approach to career, employment and skills planning and enterprise activity.
