Job Description

Purchasing Administrator - Chichester 12 month Maternity Cover An innovative business is looking for a Purchasing Administrator ideally from a Manufacturing, Distribution, Warehousing or Stock Management background. You will be commercially aware and used to maintaining client accounts. As an Purchasing Administrator, your responsibilities will include: Assess incoming order quantities ensuring that systems are kept up to date with requirements. Generate works orders for stock conversions and liaise with our manufacturers to manage these works orders through to completion. Manage transfer order to move stock from manufacturing to warehouses. Liaise with the purchasing team when expediting of incoming stock is required. Manage inventory ensuring all variants of products are considered in any assessment and necessary stock conversions are processed. Provide management information on inventory performance, levels and value. Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory and minimise write-offs. Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system. Ensure that business systems accurately reflect all of the above activities and are updated with any changes promptly. Support the team in achieving the highest standards of control over the Company's stock holding. Attend internal and external meetings as required and to follow up on any relevant action points. Provide feedback to Procurement and Inventory Manager, highlighting potential issues or problems that may affect the successful launch or manufacturing of products. Who we are looking for: The right person for this role must be able to multi-task, maintain strong attention to detail, be able to manage activities to agreed timescales, work to plans and provide effective feedback to all levels of the organisation on status and risk. You will have proven examples of the following: Experience in operations or inventory control in a retail or manufacturing environment Experience working with product and stock control planning processes and systems An understanding of inventory and purchase planning, distribution and aftermarket service and support Knowledge and experience of a variety of PC applications; intermediate Excel is essential Use of problem solving techniques and good judgement Ability to manage your own time to ensure adherence to multiple deadlines Team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels In return, an Purchasing Administrator will receive a salary of 22,000 per annum, 20 days holiday and enrolment onto the pension scheme.
