Job Description

: The Direct Custody & Clearing (DCC) CAO supports the Global Equities & Securities Services (ESS) CAO as well as the Global DCC Product Head on day-to-day activities running the business management function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. The responsibilities of the role can be broken down into the following components: + Support of the DCC Product Strategy + Margin Improvement/Productivity + Operational Risk Management + Budgeting and Financial Resource Optimization + Project Management & execution oversight + Governance, Controls and Compliance The candidate must be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment without close supervision, and with colleagues who may not be in the same geographic location. **Responsibilities:** **Core Business Management Functions** + Partner with the DCC management to ensure the efficient oversight and critical challenge of the business & execution strategy. + Collaborate closely with Product Development, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance and Technology to ensure the smooth functioning of the business. + Participate and/or lead various projects related to the strategic initiatives of each of the businesses and the O&T platforms on which they run. + Manage and improve business metrics and key performance indicators + Initiate and lead short, medium and long term projects to achieve DCC business objectives. Projects may be related to revenue growth, regulatory or market changes, expense reduction and process improvement. + Coordinate talent initiatives. **Client Focused Activities** + Defining and identifying new go to market strategies and client segmentation approaches to generate new business opportunities + Working with the wider MSS CAO community to align client objectives and cross sell opportunities **Business Performance, Margin Improvement and Productivity** + Assist in strategic analysis of product opportunities and objective assessment of current and potential performance + Understand the external and internal performance drivers of each product / function, be able to articulate verbally and numerically the key variables for success/improved performance, and execution strategies + Participate in Client Profitability development and client segment strategies, including data quality, client analytics and MIS development **Business Controls and Governance** + Assist in managing and providing support for DCC in regard to ESS governance forums including Deal Committees, Global Product Committee, Governance and Control Meeting, Global Technology council, monthly/quarterly business review (MBR/QBR) preparation and support. + Assist in internal audit reviews, providing materials and address concerns arising from these reviews. + Coordinate regulatory reviews and queries on behalf of the business ensuring timely responses. + Take lead in ensuring product compliance with upcoming regional regulatory changes **Knowledge/Experience:** + An experienced person who has performed a similar support or business management role for extensive years in a large organization. + Experience in the Financial Services industry, and Markets product in particular, is preferred + Understanding of the Global regulatory environment impacting the DCC business. + Managerial experience; team reporting into role is globally distributed **Skills:** + Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams. + Excellent communications skills (written / verbal) at all organizational levels. + People Management Skills + Results/task orientated with excellent attention to detail. + Ability to manage and prioritize effectively and resolve conflicting priorities. + Ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously. + Excellent MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Access. **Education:** Bachelor's/University degree (or equivalent), Master's degree preferred Location: New York or London ----- Grade :All Job Level - All Job FunctionsAll Job Level - All Job Functions - GB ----- Time Type : ----- Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
