Job Description
NHS HIGHLAND NEW CRAIGS, INVERNESS LOCUM SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY IN PATIENTS, NORTH HIGHLAND FULL-TIME POST FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS NHS HIGHLAND NEW CRAIGS, INVERNESS LOCUM SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN GENERAL ADULT PSYCHIATRY IN PATIENTS, NORTH HIGHLAND FULL-TIME POST FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS We seek to appoint a highly-motivated Clinician with an enthusiasm for General Adult Psychiatry on a fixed term basis. This post is part of a redesigned service and offers an opportunity to work with well-established teams who deliver an excellent standard of care in hospital and community settings. This post is based at New Craigs Hospital, Inverness. The post holder will be welcomed into a friendly and forward thinking team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors and Trainees where peer support is valued and protected. This post represents an opportunity for a motivated doctor who enjoys teamwork to be part of a modern service for in-patient General Adult Psychiatry. The post holder will work within recently redesigned multi-disciplinary teams, under the supervision of two in-patient Consultants, covering the north Highland area. The post holder will assist, with support from multi-disciplinary teams, in the management of in-patients from North Highland and will take a lead with Consultant supervision, in the patient journey through hospital and back into the community. The post holder will be expected to have Section 22 status under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 or have sufficient clinical experience to complete this prior to commencement of the post. MRCPsych would be desirable but not essential. There is an enthusiastic peer group of Specialty Doctors in Mental Health which meets regularly and there are regular educational events organised as part of our in-house programme. The post holder will be encouraged to develop a special interest in keeping with the needs of the service.
