KM Recruitment is a specialist UK wide recruiter for the Skills and Employability Sectors Job Title: Attendance Officer / Educational Welfare Location: Merseyside - Must be flexible with travel Salary : £23,600 - £28,600 Including Car Allowance, and depending on skills and experience Package includes: Excellent holiday entitlement, Pension + more Type: Full time, Permanent Duties: * Monitor student attendance and ensure statutory / contractual compliance, and drive for improvement in attendance and punctuality across all Schools. * Provide support to teaching and support staff in each school, contributing to achievement of excellence in educational standards. * Represent the School(s) at external meetings. * Carry out unsupervised home visits and meetings both at school and off site as and when required and carry out all work in line with Child Protection /Safeguarding Procedures. * Ensure school records are updated and analysed, identifying non-attendance or poor punctuality. * Meet with staff, students and parents to establish the reasons for non-attendance, and agree a plan to resolve any issues. * Lead an example of excellence as a classroom practitioner, motivating teaching staff and support in Maths and English delivery (covering tuition, as and when required * Provide guidance and coaching in the delivery of SEND practices within the school, ensuring quality of teaching and learning. Essential Criteria: * Hold or working towards QTS or QTLS. * Have experience in working with secondary students who show challenging behaviour, or those who are not suited to mainstream education. * Experience in developing SEND students. * Previous experience in developing, monitoring, and evaluating an aspect of school provision. * Knowledge of current education issues and developments, and strategies for improving attendance and standards of achievement. * Confident and professional, with the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
