Line of Service Assurance Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Assurance Management Level Manager Job Description & Summary Our FDI/DIO group comprises of 19 Partners and 613 Professionals across our Dublin and Regional offices. Between FDI & DIO we provide audit and other assurance services to fast growing, dynamic and established sectors of the economy. We use our industry expertise and experience in serving a wide range of clients across Retail and Consumer, Public Services, Pharmaceutical, Natural Resources, Technology, Information & Communications and Entertainment. Although FDI/DIO are two separate working groups you may have the chance to work across the two groups depending on your skill set. Our DIO practice audits Public Limited companies, Large private corporates, Semi - state bodies, Indigenous Irish businesses and Not-for-profit entities. FDI audits Multinational corporations, subsidiaries of overseas clients including clients subject to PCAOB reporting requirements and Irish registered Foreign Private Investors. As a Manager in the FDI/DIO industry group, you will be responsible for a portfolio of audit clients and will report directly to the audit partner of each engagement. You will oversee every aspect of a client engagement, from planning to execution to completion and in this respect be responsible for reviewing and monitoring the work of more junior staff on the engagement. As Manager, you could also be responsible for the overall relationship with the service provider/client. This would involve liaising with the other managers in relation to resourcing, timetables, client entertainment, and allocating space to audit teams etc. Responsibilities include: * Liaison with lead partner keeping him/her informed of issues * Ensure that all jobs and fees are included in the staff requisitions by liaising with other managers * Review of staff allocation and comparison with original requisition and budgeted fees. * Agreeing timetable with administrator and individual managers. * Consider if PwC staff need training on the administrator systems and arrange as needed. * Organisation and review of work (delegation as agreed with lead partner). Allocations of costs to be done by lead manager on a timely basis and managers informed of basis of allocation and costs before costs hit codes. * Keeping on top of movements in outstanding jobs as a result of changes in client timings/staff allocations * Attendance at manager meetings * Working on PCAOB and USGAPP engagements * Discussing workload with the staff on a bi-weekly basis * Organisation of weekly conference calls where deemed necessary (useful during busy season to keep on top of o/s lists) * Organising regular meetings - getting to know management and administrators and staying on top of what new clients are coming on board. * Organising partner visits/reviews on site * Circulate the template financial statements for the client's pre-year end and update them on any changes in GAAP. Education/Professional Qualifications: * Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent from a recognized international accounting institution * Minimum of 5 years practice accounting experience in a Big 4 firm or other international accounting firm. * Detailed understanding of Irish GAAP * Knowledge of US GAAP/ SEC and International Accounting Standards would be an asset * Leadership skills with a passion to coach, mentor and encourage others to achieve and progress * Business Acumen - use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making innovative business decisions. * Relationship management - ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships. * Creative - demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems. * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. * Ambitious - demonstrate strong commitment to personal learning and development.
