About the Role As a Planner you will be required to support the Network Specialist and be responsible for the provision of assistance and support to staff, direct labour and contractors involved in operational activities. This will include managing and allocating resource levels effectively, assisting Operations to ensure standards of service are delivered and annual plans are monitored, tracked, and delivered to agreed timescales. Key accountabilities of the Planner will include: * Working with different departments to ensure delivery of the annual learning plan and targets of our GD colleagues * Involved in all aspects of the planning cycle including engaging with local planners, network supervisors and customer operations managers to review plans, workload and forecasts in order to support the business * Supporting the Network with workload planning and implementation of best practices, initiatives and incentives * Developing and documenting business processes * Working to strict deadlines * Gathering, extracting and analysing data from multiple work management sources * Creating process reports that track completion of mandated programs * Supporting the management team on departmental objectives where appropriate * Developing an implementation plan for a given geographical area, considering people, process and system readiness * Coaching the geographical teams in the application of the new process, monitoring process compliance and ensuring the process becomes embedded as 'the way work is done' * Supporting problem solving activities * Provide technical and business support to ensure individuals comply with policy and work procedures and achieve company standards of service throughout all activities * Supporting the network in delivering year-on-year cost efficiencies and improvements in productivity and resource utilisation whilst maintaining world-class operational excellence, safety and customer satisfaction * Support the implementation of technical and procedural best practise and innovation * Provide advice and guidance to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statuary requirements * Support operational staff with field trials analyse of the data produced. Support the preparation and completion of relevant documentation e.g. GL23 / ASV1 assessor * Support the issuing and documentation of ad-hoc equipment/training and relevant materials * Engage with external stakeholders to review and document performance, resolve issues and develop new ways of working which can deliver cost savings and performance improvements. About You You'll possess the following qualifications, skills and experience: * Proficient with MS Excel/PowerPoint and general computer skills * Strong planning and organisational skills * Strong focus on customer needs * Proven and demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work using own initiative * Resilient and able to learn quickly * Strong administration skills * Accuracy and attention to detail * Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others at all levels * Flexibility in your working hours * A passion for change, creating and driving standard operating procedures whilst thinking about the impacts on the end to end process. Desirable * Technical knowledge or experience * Project management skills * Contract management skills * Good understanding of relevant codes of practice, engineering instructions safety and statutory regulation * Understanding on Safe Control of Operations procedures.
