About this role Our Agile Coaches are servant leaders and subject matter experts, coaching multiple teams at scale, providing guidance and expertise on Agile methodology, standards and frameworks and uplifting capability across our Scrum Masters and broader Agile community. They are focussed on embedding agile principles, methods and practices to improve delivery velocity and achieve desired outcomes. They help remove impediments at a program/portfolio level and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. Key focuses include: facilitating planning and alignment at a program/portfolio level in a transparent, collaborative manner; identifying opportunities to unlock business value earlier, championing the embedment of agile across the organisation and agitating for the resolution of cross-functional bottlenecks, driving agile capability and maturity uplift; and reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement. You'll have the following responsibilities Planning & Alignment Partners with, coaches and supports the program/portfolio Senior Leaders in managing the backlog to ensure it is properly prioritized and appropriately sized. Facilitates multi-team/cross-functional planning and alignment ceremonies (e.g. backlog grooming, planning meetings, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, demos/showcases). Identifies cross-team risks and dependencies and facilitates resolution of these. Team Engagement & Performance Role models and champions an Agile mindset and belief system to drive cultural change. Coaches and provides fit-for-purpose and tailored expertise across multiple teams at various states in order to uplift Agile maturity (i.e. Agile principles, methods and practices) through clear alignment with business goals, savvy backlog management and forward momentum around the next most important needs. Coaches and uplifts Agile capability and expertise across our Scrum Master Community. Assesses organisational Agile maturity via surveys, metrics, observations, interviews and supports the implementation of fit-for-purpose and tailored improvement opportunities. Curates and delivers (working with our Scrum Masters) the portfolio/program Agile capability uplift program needed (e.g. training, custom workshops, coaching, mentoring, value stream analysis, etc.) Delivery & Measurement Measures and tracks the impact of Agile on delivery. Drives opportunities for value delivery acceleration at a program/ portfolio level in order to unlock value earlier. Leverages the Scrum Master community to identify systemic / cross-functional issues and drives the resolution of these Focuses on program/portfolio level outcomes and achieving benefits (e.g. high product quality, high customer satisfaction, reduced risks, improved project controls, faster ROI). Methodology, Standards and Frameworks Works with other Agile Coaches to improve the application of Agile practices and cross-collaboration on delivery execution. Establishes and provides guidance on Agile methodology, standards and frameworks, including Agile maturity models and coaching strategies. Champions and shares Agile Industry trends and contributes thought leadership and best practices to our internal community as well as influencing external Agile communities and standards. You'll have the following skills & experience Systems Thinking: Extensive experience analysing and connecting concepts and components across the entirety of a system (e.g. E2E value stream) to understand how value flows through the system, and diagnose and resolve complex issues. Interpersonal Savvy: Extensive experience influencing Senior Leaders (i.e. MD, Director level and senior suppliers across CFUs) and large-scale teams, without reliance on authority to obtain stakeholder buy-in. Driving Engagement: Extensive experience fostering and empowering high performing teams. Agile Methodology: Extensive or subject-matter expert understanding of the principles, components and features of Agile methodology, with a continuous learning approach to new concepts and best practices. Coaching: Extensive experience coaching, with a strong servant leadership philosophy. SDLC: Extensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and technical change delivery. Facilitation: Excellent facilitator, with the ability to communicate and adapt your style based on the situation/ context. Conflict Resolution: Extensive experience in effective conflict resolution within and across teams. Problem Solving: Extensive experience solving complex problems across cross-functional contexts.
