Job Description
We are currently looking to recruit a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic and enthusiastic paediatric team working in the community. You will be working within the specialist field of Severe & Complex Needs with children from 0 - 19 both in the community and in Special Needs Schoola and a Child Development Centre. Based at the Lighthouse Child Development Centre you will be working alongside colleagues within the community Speech and Language Therapy team and as part of a multi agency team. The individual will be well organised and able to work on their own initiative and will be an excellent communicator able to cross boundaries with the MDT and families alike. You will be responsible for clinical input and management of a paediatric severe and complex needs caseload, working alongside other qualified and unqualified staff to deliver a service to pre-school and school aged children with identified severe & complex needs in the community and special schools There will be the opportunity to work alongside health colleagues in Rehab and Paediatrics and within the specialist teaching teams to continue to develop innovative service delivery to the severe & complex needs population. Within the Speech and Language Therapy service you will be expected to advise and supervise those who are less experienced and to foster a developing interest in severe & complex needs with a view to succession planning. We have excellent links with other professionals within the health service and education and robust clinical supervision and support networks in place. In return you will receive full induction into the service and on-going management and clinical supervision. The service is willing to consider applications from experienced (band 6) Speech and Language Therapists who are keen to develop their specialist skills in the field of severe & complex needs and would adjust the salary banding and supervision/support/training arrangements available to reflect this for the right candidate as a progression to a band 7 post over the first year of employment EPUT are looking for motivated staff who shares our Trust values of Open, Compassionate and Empowering.
