The Enabling Programme is a major transformation programme working to integrate finance, HR and supply chain data, processes, policy and systems to support the One Pearson vision. It is supported by Pearson Executive Management. Role overview & Purpose This role is part of the Payroll Centre of Expertise, within the Employee Experience functional area of responsibility within the HR Function. Reporting into the Global Payroll Director it is a pivotal role in ensuring the successful use and growth of the Backoffice solutions that power the HR function and Payroll within Pearson. The Continuous Improvement SME role is fundamental to acceptance and adoption of Global Payroll Processes, functionality and Integration, to drive simplification within Pearson and provide a Global, standard operating model. The role will work in partnership with the HR Global Process Owner and Transformation Teams, the HR function, supporting the Global Payroll solution. Key Deliverables + Key interface between HR business needs and technology solutions providing strategic and operational information and recommendations to key decision makers. + Lead on a review and evaluation of all HR Payroll systems, practices and policies and recommend improvements to ensure effective and efficient use of Payroll and associated 3rd Party systems. + Translate business processes into system requirements. + Lead on strong technology solutions, in partnership with HR Solutions, to improve our HR Payroll practices and efficiencies. + Lead on all evaluating system performance and user uptake for continuous improvement + Lead on performance reporting including analysis to enable effective decision making for the HR GPO, Payroll Director and Employee Experience SVP. + Member of Super User Group or Centre's of Excellence where HR Payroll input is required + Utilising the standard delivery mechanisms and methodologies ensure delivery is completed within the appropriate Delivery Model, HR Operations and HRSLT Governance models. + Liaise with HR Solutions and Third-Party SI providers to ensure that Global Payroll Solutions continue to support current and planned infrastructure + Conduct ongoing assessments of SSC and Country readiness in Global Process, functionality and solutions, to ensure the organization is fully compliant in data, technology, resources, processes governance + Drive adoption through engagement and collaboration with the Change, Comms & Training (CCT) team of Global Processes, Data model and functionality to support HR's Continuous Improvement process + Work with content team to ensure that all necessary documentation is in place prior to HR SSC deployment of new Processes and Functionality + Produce compliance reports and strategies for Global Process, Data model and functional compliance for HRSLT, supporting all HR CoE plans and deliverables + Must have the capability and background in strong collaborative management and leadership approach with internal and external Customers and all 3rd Party solution providers + Accountable foridentifying, mitigating and escalating issues related to deployment activities of a Global Payroll, HR CoE's and Cross Functional perspective, as needed Key Challenges: + Lead discrete Payroll Initiatives within an overarching HR Programme + Working in a matrixed and virtual environment + Working with all Stakeholders - internally, and internationally within Pearson + Working on multiple projects/workstreams at one time + Working as part of a global team, with a global mindset + Working with a global customer base with different cultures and encouraging diverse and inclusive solutions, strategies and teams + Some out of hours working to support the global organisation - professional day + Building internal confidence in a situation of consistent change + Developing creative future proofed solutions to meet market need + Ensuring local markets deliver solutions effectively within the Global Process Framework + Changing the focus of organisational energy from broad to core activities + Working within a Global Governance structure is vit
