Your mission in this role: establish the WhiteHat in-house legal function. This role is suitable for someone with a background in contract law, but who is also willing to advise across employment law, data practices and company expansion planning. This is a broad, in-house commercial role where you will be exposed to a variety of legal work. You will be a UK qualified lawyer with a commercial mindset and the ability to think creatively to achieve the business commercial objectives. You will value building internal and external relationships and be confident to challenge. You will be a natural negotiator with the ability to influence and persuade both internal and external stakeholders. This role is currently a part-time position. The opportunity: * Establish and run a new legal function for a rapidly growing business * Work closely with the Finance Director, Sales & Customer Service team and our Co-Founders * Provide accurate and timely legal guidance to the company * Advise on IP, commercial, corporate and marketing matters * Help build a proactive compliance culture across WhiteHat * Responsibility for all key legal documentation for the business * Provide legal support to the WhiteHat GDPR team, maintaining the companys Data Privacy policies and procedures * Keep up to date with legal developments in the apprenticeship field Requirements * A strong legal background with a minimum of 5 years PQE * Exceptional communication skills with an ability to make complex regulatory concepts clear to business teams and clients * Collaborative working style * Experience in Data Protection policies and procedures * Experience in negotiating a range of commercial agreements * Someone who relishes the startup environment and is happy to roll up their sleeves * Willingness to advise across all legal tasks - drawing on specialist support when needed * Experience in a fast paced, fast growth environment is desirable * Aligned to the WhiteHat mission Benefits Apart from working with a smart, passionate and highly motivated team on a mission you care about, you will also get: * 27 days holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays to keep the tank topped up * Perkbox benefits, for everything from phone insurance to gym membership * Drinks, snacks and regular treats which can be enjoyed in the summer from the balcony on our 5th floor.
