A new role has arisen for an experienced accountant in a finance role for Manulife Investment Management (Europe) Limited (the Company), an FCA regulated MiFID firm based in London and which has a wholly owned Swiss subsidiary, Manulife IM (Switzerland) LLC (the Subsidiary), regulated for distribution activity by FINMA and located in Zurich. For the EMEA region there is also a UCITS Management Company in Ireland, Manulife Investment Management (Ireland) Limited (ManCo). The Company has been operational for 25+ years and carries out both investment management and distribution from London, UCITS management and distribution activities from Ireland & and distribution activity from Switzerland). General Accountability: Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Manulife Investment Management (Europe) Limited, and functionally to Head of Advisory Analysis, U.S. & Europe, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities: * Manager, WAM Finance EMEA. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and forecasting, and financial analysis activities. This role will also be responsible for financial planning and reporting for EMEA at both legal entity and management accounting level and will work closely with Group Finance on the annual planning and forecasting providing input to Group Finance and ensuring EMEA is properly reflected within the Global Wealth and Asset Management (GWAM) plan and forecast * * The incumbent will work closely with the Financial Controllers of the Company and the ManCo in order to deliver the objectives of the role, obtaining input and providing support where required. The incumbent will be part of the GWAM Finance Accounting & Reporting team and will ensure that the EMEA companies fully benefit from global finance capabilities and will be supported by the GWAM Finance Accounting & Reporting team. Responsibilities: 1.Forecasts and Annual Plan Prepare the Annual Plan and Forecasts for the EMEA companies including revenue, expenses, AuM and net cash flows as inputs to the MIM annual planning cycle.The incumbent will collaborate with the FC's (Financial Controller) and the global finance team to manage the timeline, deliverables, and analysis associated with the forecast and annual plan packages. 2.Accounting, Controls & Reporting In conjunction with EMEA FC's, provide timely monthly and quarterly financial reports to local management detailing financial performance, significant variances to plan, flows and assets under management. 3.Audited Financial Statements and Regulatory Reporting Provide support to the FC's as part of the annual financial audit of EMEA companies, specifically where detailed variance analysis of financial performance is required by the external auditor. Work with local finance team and Group Finance to plan for capital requirements of EMEA entities based on plan and forecast. The role will include assistance with the preparation of the annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process document for the Board of the Company. 4.Financial Reporting of EMEA Distribution Business Segment Preparation of Profit and Loss reporting for Distribution Business Segment of EMEA including preparation of the annual plan, actual results and associated variances and including detailed analysis of flows, revenues and expenses. 5. Support EMEA Finance Function Provide support to the EMEA Finance function as required. This may include but not be limited to updating and checking general ledger, implementing and monitoring financial controls, assistance with financial audit and regulatory reporting, collating information for corporation tax, VAT etc. Responsibilities: Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education: * Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CGA, CMA or CPA) * 5+ years of finance/accounting experience * Investment management industry experience and a strong understanding of investment funds and fund accounting * Previous experience in a regulated asset manager, including strong regulatory knowledge,
