Our background and your main purpose... Ruroc exists to make helmets cool. We believe that re-engineering protection with the perfect balance of art and science will make people want to wear our helmets, making them safer and will mean they live longer (and cooler!). In 2019 we had our first 1m turnover day and in 2020 we had our first 1m turnover hour and were now in a fabulous position to build further growth. In January 2020 the business completed a strategic review to build on this foundation, leading to a number of initiatives Ruroc believes will unlock future growth. Firstly, the business is now investing in significant operational / systems upgrades to improve efficiency, leading to improvements in business processes and customer experience. Secondly, we have devised a clear product and target audience strategy that will help Ruroc create more amazing products, engaging content / stories that engage this audience and generate high lifetime value. Finally, a number of new roles across the business have been created to help expedite growth, this being one of them. The leadership team believe this investment plan can unlock up to 100% growth in 2020 and then onto annual revenues of 50m within 3 years, making it one of the fastest growing UK companies. Reporting to Rurocs Buying and Merchandising Director, your focus is to ensure that we always have the right stock on hand at the right time and in the right quantity. You will need to work closely with other members of the buying and merchandising team, along with our product development and trading teams, to facilitate new product introductions and facilitate the efficient flow of stock through the business. Youll do this by working with our buying and merchandising team to formulate our buying strategy and planned order forecasts and regularly review these against performance. Youll look for seasonal trends in company trading and relevant markets to highlight our high and low requirements throughout the year and ensure that we have the right stock available at the right time. You will need to work closely with our product design team during upcoming product launches to plan the product ranges, sales and work with the purchasing manager to create buying plans for new products being introduced. Our marketing and trading team will need to be kept up to date on projected stock volumes and you will work with them to identify sales opportunities and ensure the efficient movement of stock through the business. Today, weve generated an organisation structure that we believe will unlock success, however were flexible and want to ensure we use your experience to put the right people in the right place within the marketing team. Product Team (Design, Development & Buying) Brand Team / Agencies (Content, Organic & Earned Media) Media Team / Agencies (Paid Media Channels) Customer Team (In/Outbound Comms) Trading Team (eCom & 3rd Party Distribution) Operations Team (Factory & Fulfilment) Tech (Development, Systems, Infrastructure) Finance (Money In, Money Out) Main Accountabilities * THE RIGHT STOCK ON HAND AT THE RIGHT TIME - The right stock is products our target audience wants to buy, on hand means theyre in stock, ready to ship when the customer needs them. * HUNT CASH & VALUE GENERATION Planning our annual orders to maximise cash availability. * Optimise sales volume and profitability * Work closely with the Product Design team to forecast quantities for new products and work with the Purchasing manager to deliver stock from the factory on time. * Liaise with the trading team to identify over-stocked lines that should take the lead in sales events. * Work with the brand and marketing teams to identify market trends that can improve planning accuracy for the future. * Agree purchasing plans with the Buying and Merchandising and Finance Directors Proposed Measures * % stock on-hand vs stock Turnover / Cover * Stock on-hand availability. * Adherence to budgeted cash flow levels * Monthly Sales targets correct stock levels enable our trading team to hit targets. Success in 6 months looks like A robust ordering plan in place for next Februarys product launches. Optimised production plans for outstanding orders with the factory. Accurate accessories order forecasts for the next 12 months. Success in Year Two looks like Scalable stock and merchandising model in place to plan for the next 3 years. 100% stock on hand of key lines, to be agreed with senior management. 95% stock availability of all current lines. Minimise stock holding by accurately forecasting orders across all ranges. Increase Revenue or Lower Cost? Both. Ensuring availability targets are met will lead to increased sales from stock.
