An opportunity for a C++ programmer with embedded systems experience to join a financially secure start-up company who specialize in the medical device sector. You will be the sixth person to join the company and the third member of the Software team. Joining the company at such an early stage, you will be given shares in the company (which is by far the best share scheme I have ever seen in my 12 years of recruitment). The companies CEO is a serial entrepreneur, with an excellent track record creating successful businesses. You will be working on the development of a medical treatment that is required by millions of people globally every single day. The uniqueness of the treatment that you will be developing is that the patient recovery time is reduced from 3 months to 1 day. It is truly game changing and will make a huge positive impact to millions of people's lives globally. The technology you will be working with is stimulating and attractive to any budding and enthusiastic software engineer. You will be working on a product that uses ultrasound beams, particles, signal processing and the latest hardware and software. It is this technology working together which carries out this highly sophisticated and game changing operation. Joining the company at such an early stage provides you the opportunity to be involved in the software decisions. This will involve choosing the development framework, unit test framework, compiler etc. At present the product is at proof of concept stage, which is written in Matlab on Windows. The next stage of development is to write the code for commercial use and create a working prototype. The language you will be programming in will be C++. The operating system to be used has yet to be decided. The current consideration is Linux or RTOS (possibly QNX). You will be involved in this decision. SKILLS REQUIRED: * 3+ years industry working experience * Good C++ programming ability (used in an Embedded or Application environment) * Real time Embedded Systems experience * RTOS or Linux experience * Unit Test experience DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE: * Experience programming code for a Safety Critical Industry sector (e.g. Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, Oil+Gas) OTHER INFORMATION: Due to CV-19 you will be working remotely.
