Job Description
To develop software for the systems and products in our Smart & Connected growth initiative within the Sensata Ventures organisation. - Sensata Technologies is recruiting an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for the systems and products in our Smart & Connected growth initiative within the Sensata Ventures organisation. Commercial fleets are seeking to deploy smart and connected devices across trucks and trailers in order to generate actionable insight to reduce operating costs, improve uptime and enhance safety. As an Embedded Software Engineer you will work within a cross-functional team to develop embedded software for multiple sensing applications and deliver unique system solutions which provide high value to our end customers. You will have an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology which offers a unique challenge in achieving optimal hardware and algorithm performance from resource-constrained devices. The selected candidate will join a highly motivated and growing team within a new ventures organization at Sensata charged with incubating and commercialising new technologies. Responsibilities include: * Developing embedded software for sensing and gateway products * Supporting all aspects of the software product life-cycle, from initial software requirements capture, architectural design, coding design, implementation, test, and release to customers * Algorithm design and implementation for new functionality * Developing proof-of-concept demonstrations to customers and development partners * Working according to all agreed team procedures, including Agile/Scrum methods Experience/Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics: * BEng degree in Electronics, Software or a related engineering discipline * Industrial experience in an Embedded Software Design role * 3 + years' Embedded C/C++ experience on embedded Linux platforms * Expertise with Linux, Kernel, u-boot , Root File System and Device Trees * Detail oriented with good communication and documentation skills * Experience of software development including platform bring-up and low-level debugging on embedded Linux Targets * Developing and integrating Linuxdevice drivers * Experience in Continuous Integration - Jenkins/GitlabCI * Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and deliver results * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Energetic and self-motivated personality * Willingness to travel as required to global Sensata and customer sites Preferred characteristics include: * Scripting experience, especially, Bash,Python, Ruby * Experience inYocto based Embedded DevOps * Secure boot experience * Experience with Kubernetes or Docker for Container based build systems * Experience with hardware debugging tools (e.g. JTAG debuggers). * IP / Networking Protocol Experience * Experience in development of automotive software e.g. CAN bus support etc * Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team development: writing user stories, sprint planning and workshops * Experience developing products/systems compliant to SPICE and/or ISO26262 functional safety standards - - Smarter Together * Collaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world's most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thing. * Employees work across functions, countries and cultures gaining new perspectives through mutual respect and open communication. * As OneSensata, we are working together to make things work together If you are an individual who requires a reasonable accommodation in connection with the hiring process and/or to perform the essential functions of the position for which you applied, please make a request to the recruiter or contact benefits@sensata.com.
