Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week Contract type: Permanent * Are you looking for a new challenge? * Do you always strive to offer excellent patient care? * Then we may have the job for you. An opportunity has become available within the Radiology Directorate at York. The post holder will be working in the Vascular Imaging Unit (VIU) as a member of an expanding and supportive team. This is an extremely exciting time to work within the unit, as we are about to embark upon a capital project to expand the unit from 2 labs to 4 whilst expanding and improving our recovery facilities. It is also an excellent developmental opportunity given the variety of work on offer. The post involves working in both the cardiac and interventional radiology catheter labs and in the preparation and recovery area in VIU. You will be trained to work in both a scrub nurse role and a circulating nurse role in the labs, as well as learn to deliver all aspects of care during the preparation and recovery of patients. On occasion you may be required to assist with interventional procedures in the main radiology department. There is a robust training package in place for each of these areas. We are passionate about enabling staff to develop and extend their scope of practice, and keen that all team members are involved in developing the service. When suitably trained, you will take part in our 24/7 on call rota, offering vital emergency care to the population of North East Yorkshire.
