Charles at Roc Search is currently recruting for a Head of Development for a medium sized Software Company based in the Southampton Area. The Ideal candidate, will be hands on with a Development background, we need someone to lead the Developers with passion and knowledge. The Developers/QA's collaborate on various projects and are now looking for a leader to take them to the next level in Development. I have personally placed a large proportion of the team within this company, so will be able to give you a detailed brief on the team, industry and companies specialism to give yourself the best chance when applying. Requirements: * Track record of leading and managing Software Development teams in an Agile Environment * Experience in managing teams of 20 - 30 through the use of best practice techniques and tools for development teams. * Experience building Development roadmaps, monitoring industry trends and directions; developing and presenting substantive technical recommendations to senior management. * Ruby on Rails experience (HUGE BONUS) * 5+ years of recent hands-on development experience in Java/J2ee, Rest, Weblogic, Tomcat, JMS, Python, Ruby on Rails, Spring framework, Clojure, Groovy, Hibernate, Maven, etc. Perks: A package can be created for the desired applicant.
