Job purpose: Our 16hr Part-time Night Loader at our Nottingham Depot is responsible for the loading and unloading of vehicles and the sortation and scanning of parcels into cages. This role requires the manual handling of both small and large items and sacks, physical as well as mental agility is needed. Our Nottingham Dept is a BRAND NEW site, new equipment, new building and you will potentially be some of the first colleagues to work there. We plan to open the Nottingham Depot by the END OF May, so we will be interviewing from early May onwards. The Depot is based at Panattoni Park. Eastwood / Langley Mill, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG16 3RY This a fantastic role to work around education or family commitments which a SECURE, CONTRACTED position where you will work a minimum of 16hrs per week with the option of additional hours at times. Please note because this is an unsociable hours role you MUST BE over 18 years of age to work in this position. About the Role: You'll report in to your Shift Supervisor and Nightshift Manager, where you will be part of a shift that processes a large volume of parcels. Depending on which shift and what day, it may be anything from 40,000 to a 100,000 parcels in a shift. But don't worry you won't be tackling them alone! You'll work as part of a team and use some really smart kit to help you sort all those parcels efficiently. You'll use Hand-Held Terminals (HHT's), pump-trucks (once you're trained) and work on fancy conveyor systems that bring the parcels to you and then you will sort them in to smaller "collars" for certain areas and postcodes. This isn't an easy job and at times you will have to deal with large volumes but then there will be times when the volumes are lighter and you'll have chance to gain new skills and experience. This position is ideal for someone who wants to grow their career with us and take on more of a leadership role. You must be able to work well in a team and take the lead on your section on your shift. Responsibilities: * Pick and pack orders, with repetitive handling/lifting of sometimes heavy and large items * Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team * Ensure scanning compliance of all stock, with accurate use of the hand held terminal * Accurate completion of any relevant paperwork * Keep work area clean and tidy Benefits: * 9.40 per hour with overtime available at a premium rate. * 24 Days Holiday entitlement pro rata'd + Bank Holidays * Opt in benefits We will contribute 3% into your pension, give you peace of mind through life assurance and also provide income protection cover.
