Litigation Claims Handler Location: Birmingham/ Wolverhampton Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum Hours: 35 hours per week between Monday - Friday (9.00-17.00) Williams & Dunne is a well renowned and established Consumer legal practice business and is part of a large and diverse group of businesses that operate across many separate sectors including media, financial services, legal and software development. The Litigation Claims Handler Role An exciting opportunity has arisen at Williams & Dunne to join our litigation team. We are one of the fastest growing law firms in Birmingham, specialising in civil litigation in particular financial claims. We are currently recruiting for a Claims Handler within our company to help us with our planned growth. The successful candidate will be advising on claims relating to a range of unsuitable investments purchased through financial advisors or banks including hedging products. Advising in relation to claims where inaccurate or misleading financial advice has been provided. Handling claims relating to unauthorised payments and secret commissions made by banks and other financial institutions. Key role and responsibilities: * Drafting and producing legal documentation and standard forms * Taking responsibility for every claim you are assigned and ensuring all relevant parties are kept informed * Assessing relevant documentation as part of a litigation case * Checking legal documents for quality, consistency and content and ensuring documents are compliant with the relevant protocols * Creating bundles for trial * Liaising with relevant parties and the Court * Managing and ensuring that deadlines are met * Any additional tasks as required by the business Requirements for the Litigation Claims Handler Role Essential requirements: * A high level of attention to detail * Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels * A positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach to your work * Effective personal, organisational and time management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple demands * The ability to work to tight timescales with a sense of urgency * The aptitude to work efficiently and effectively to progress your case load whilst maintaining the highest quality of work * Previous paralegal or administration experience is of relevance, but not essential The Person: We've created a working environment where your personal experience is as highly valued as your professional expertise; where your ideas and your thinking are rewarded, not just your results.
