Job Description

Responsible for general cleanliness of the kitchen and associated areas, including kitchen equipments, utensils, kitchen extraction system, working surface areas, kitchen floor and walls. - Ensure a clean and safe working environment as per company guidelines and standards - Maintenance of cleaning materials and chemicals - Maintenance of service equipment and cleaning / waste disposal equipment in line with completed risk assessment - Correct disposal of kitchen waste according to regulations and unit requirements - Assistance of basic food preparation under supervision of Team leader - Maintain an efficient speed of work to meet time targets of opening, service and closing of the restaurant - Report any maintenance and service issues to the Head Chef/ Sous Chef immediately - Follow the correct Food Hygiene and Health & Safety procedures to ensure welfare of both staffs and customers - Follow the chemical usage and storage guidelines as trained in COSSH - Performance special duties as assigned by chef or manager on duty - To lead by example and act as role model for new kitchen porters - To train new kitchen porters in cleaning procedures and tasks
