They have reached out to us, to help assist with the search for an Associate Counsel for their London office. The Associate Counsel works in relative independence, to perform legal and contract work of up to medium complexity level and contract risk type for the company's global clients in the relevant region, as required. This may cover services such as commercial transactions, corporate and M&A transactions, Intellectual property, software licensing and SaaS, data privacy, ethics and compliance, litigation and immigration. To be considered for this position, you must hold. * Bachelor or Masters degree in Law or Regional equivalent. * up to 5 years of relevant experience in a global corporation's legal department or contract management department or within a law firm * Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction * Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A second language may be required in some regions * Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the legal department and business teams * Detail oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills * Strong understanding of core legal knowledge and ability to advise in the technical areas relevant to our client and their industry sectors (e.g. commercial contracts, transaction management, disputes, sector-specific regulation) * Clear and concise advice and legal document drafting * Personal time management to adhering to deadlines and proactively manage conflicting priorities * Ability to work highly collaboratively within a onsite and virtual global team and also to work independently * Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Drafts, reviews and negotiates legal documents and commercial agreements (including non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing agreements, master service agreements, teaming agreements, statement of work, amendment etc.) with customers, teaming partners, and outside counsel as requested by the client or the business; * Understands and gathers all the necessary approvals aligned with Client's governance and policies * Completes research into relevant laws and regulations, interpret contracts and legal documents, in order to assist in the resolution of problems and providing answers to questions as requested and oversee compliance to these documents; * Responsible for keeping stakeholders abreast of the progress of a case by creating reports and communicating verbally; * Under supervision, serve as a trusted advisor to members of the business team and company stakeholders. * Demonstrates professionalism in making decisions, understanding the subject-matter of the contract, good knowledge of the common corporate business practices, including understanding the basic agreements for provision of services and the key performance indicators. * Determines organizational risk, surfaces/escalates risks in accordance with adopted best practices, and proposes potential alternative courses of action. * Works closely with multifunctional teams * As needed and according to required qualifications provides legal assistance and/or representation on behalf of the company. * Make themselves acquainted on a regular basis with all company's or its client's standard legal positions documents in order to apply these when providing legal services For more information on this opportunity, please contact Natalie Snow or Kirsty Fagan 01344 741095
