Support Workers Ref: LDS/961 Gateshead Learning Disabilities Services £18,184 - £18,477 per annum - plus £45 per sleep in (part time pro-rata) Various hours available Shifts across 7 days - including earlies, lates, nights, sleep-in's, weekends and bank holidays (The initial hourly rate during probation will be £9.30p/h increasing to £9.45p/h upon passing probation) We are seeking to recruit Support Workers to join our Gateshead services. The role involves supporting clients with a learning disability who may also display some challenging behaviours. You will support clients in their own home and in the community. Your personal qualities and skills will enable you to work effectively with people with long term support needs. You will be well motivated to work alone as well as part of a team. Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous for you to have a full driving licence as driving is a desirable element of this role. Staff are expected to support clients with their everyday needs by following their support plans and maintaining records to expected standards. This role will involve providing personal care including showering, toileting and catheter care. There will be elements of moving and handling involved and some clients requiring support are wheelchair users. You will also be expected to undertake domestic duties such as laundry, changing bedding and cleaning floors.
