Job Description
Consultant in Dermatology York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust We are looking to invite applicants to join our dynamic Dermatology team at York Hospital. Applications are invited for a Consultant Dermatologist to join our current team of 8 Consultants. The Trust provides a full range of standard dermatology services; there are two dedicated dermatological theatres and facilities for PDT, phototherapy and patch testing. Day case theatres for complex surgical procedures are available. Specialist Nurse led services include dermatological surgery, skin cancer, leg ulcers/ Lymphoedema management, cryotherapy and drug monitoring. There are close links with other specialties, such as Maxillofacial surgery, Plastic surgery and Rheumatology. The post will be based at York Hospital however flexible job plans to suit applicants can be discussed and may include working at one of our peripheral hospitals. We currently cover dermatology services in York, Scarborough, Malton and Selby, to support our services consultants are expected to work cross site. Successful candidates would be encouraged to develop a special interest and participate in an on-call rota. Posts would include undergraduate and postgraduate teaching; the department has close links with Hull and York Medical School (HYMS) offering interested candidates opportunities for extended undergraduate teaching or the development of roles within the medical school. York Hospital is located just minutes away from the historic city centre of York which is home to various restaurants, bars, shops and theatres perfect for all ages. There are many bus routes accessible throughout York and the train station is only a ten-minute drive from the hospital with regular services to surrounding areas such as Leeds and the ability to travel to London in under 2 hours.
