Job Description

The Service Engineer Role This is a field based role, working from home and the job holder will be required to travel to client sites across North West England and occasionally Midlands carrying out planned and preventive maintenance on pumps as well as reactive maintenance and commissioning. It will be expected of the Mobile Service Engineer to deliver high level on-site customer support, maintenance and repair service to existing and future clients. As this is a customer facing role, you will exhibit high professional company image at all times, in addition to being flexible, since there will be a requirement for occasional weekend working and spending time away from home. A Smartphone, Laptop and company vehicle will be provided Key Responsibilities as our Service Engineer: Maintenance and Servicing + Carry out Service work on all types of Weir equipment on site, or in a Service Centre, in a timely manner. + To complete concise and accurate technical reports on work carried out on site and to complete all other job related administrative responsibilities accurately and on time. + Fault finding within processing equipment in (complex) customer installations with possibly little information. + Produce detailed technical reports on fault diagnosis, inspection and repair of Weir products. + Using condition monitoring tools in order to achieve high standard preventative and predictive maintenance levels. + Laser alignment of pump sets, gearboxes, pulley's, etc. + May be required to attend breakdowns at very short notice, some overtime and weekend working will be required. + Commissioning of high value minerals processing equipment. Customer Service + To offer the highest standards of customer service by being attentive to individual customer's requirements and ensuring a pro-active, efficient and effective response to customers' needs. + Promoting the company at all times when communicating with customers. + Monitor your customer's complaints & warranties and ensure satisfactory follow up. Services & Sales + Develop existing & future service / After-market opportunities in your area. + Perform technical/commercial site audits on clients to generate new service business. + Manage Service contracts/Agreements and self-schedule the necessary appointments. + Perform technical/commercial site audits on clients to generate new service business. + Support Product managers & Area Sales Engineers Experience & Skills needed to become our Service Engineer: + Minimum 5 years experience in similar role + Minimum 3 years experience with maintenance within Sand & Gravel Plant or process industries would be advantageous + Knowledge of minerals processing industry and/or aggregates, power, chemical & process industries + Modern Apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or Engineering degree + Mechanical / Electrical background + Driving license is essential + Good Mechanical, Industrial and Electrical system understanding + A good knowledge of pump maintenance and preferably all slurry processing products Salary and benefits + 32-37k per annum + 25 days holiday plus 8 days Bank Holiday + Company Vehicle + Laptop and Mobile phone + Flexible working hours + Pension Scheme + Employee Rewards scheme ID: 2019-21158 Shift Schedule: Day External Company Name: The Weir Group PLC External Company URL: www.weirminerals.com Street: Weir Minerals, Halifax Road, Todmorden, West Yorks
