We are looking for a Senior Lawyer to support the General Counsel for the UK & Ireland in managing the provision of a high quality and commercially focused legal service to the UK Business and, where relevant, the Irish Business. A Day in the Life of... + You will be supporting the General Counsel UK & Ireland, deputising where appropriate and required, including at senior commercial management meetings. + You will be leading on the provision of legal advice in respect to a wide range of matters, including new launch initiatives, strategic change initiatives, digital activities, legislative change and Brexit opportunity planning. + You will contribute to the development of functional strategy in the UK & Irish Legal Team, including development and implementation of legal services improvement initiatives within the UK & Irish cluster. + You will anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommend process, product or service improvements. + You will ensure maximum understanding of and compliance with current and future legal requirements affecting the industry and provide training to non-legal colleagues in these areas. + You will provide clear and incisive legal advice, on a wide range of legal matters, including contractual, competition, GDPR, strategic, litigious and where required regulatory matters. + You will manage legal risk across the full breadth of the UK businesses in a manner that supports and facilitates their continued commercial success. + You will broadly contribute to the leadership of the businesses, working effectively with senior management and creating strong relationships with the UK Businesses Units. + You will lead external and internal project teams to achieve milestones and objectives. + Other duties as required by the direction of the GC UK & Ireland regarding project leadership/management, strategic project planning and implementation and growth initiatives. + Some team member management responsibilities. Who we are looking for Are you.... + A strategic thinker with the ability to create solutions to situations? + Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines? + Able to manage your workload and tasks with shifting priorities? + Highly skilled in planning in time management? Do you have.... + A Legal Degree? + Multiple years post qualified experience within England and Wales with some experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry or, if in private practice, experience of advising clients in the sector? + Strong technical commercial knowledge with experience in commercial contracts is essential - especially experience negotiating commercial agreements in the pharmaceutical industry? + Experience in data protection when it comes to e-commerce (Preferred) ? + A strong understanding of competition law, ideally within Pharma?
