Maintenance Operative Beacher Hall Care Home, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 6PG It's the small things that can often make the biggest difference. Right now, we're looking for a caring and organised individual to join us as a Maintenance Operative at Beacher Hall care home in Reading to help us be the positive difference to our resident's lives. Working hours and salary 9.01 - 11.10 per hour DOE 9 am - 5 pm Full time available What your typical day involves * Carrying out a wide range of routine building, maintenance and repair jobs, with minimum disruption to the care home * Checking electrical items brought into the home by our residents, overseeing heating systems, fire alarm checks, refrigeration and general electrics * Being accountable for compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, service contract and inspections * Responding to off duty emergencies within the home (as necessary) * Supervising the Maintenance Assistants (dependent on size of home) Who we're looking for Friendly and approachable, you'll have previous experience working in a maintenance role and take pride in your work. You understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a safe, pleasant and comfortable environment. Nothing is too much trouble and you're always happy to help the wider team. You'll enjoy communicating with others and you'll cherish the little moments with our residents. About our home Close to Reading station, Beacher Hall is a one minute walk from the bus stop. The home provides care to the young physically disabled and those living with spinal or brain injuries, respiratory conditions and specialist care for Huntington's and Parkinson's.
