DCS - Assistant Risk Manager * * Aon is currently recruiting for a Assistant Risk Manager to join our DCS (Delegated Consulting Service) team in London. The role's primary responsibility will be to manage the LDI Portfolios for individual client portfolios including trading, monitoring and attribution. The role requires a good knowledge of investments (in particular LDI and derivatives) and defined benefit pension schemes. We're happy to talk flexible working. Your impact as an DCS - Assistant Risk Manager Checking and scrutinizing the calculations used in instructing third party LDI managers on the level of exposure required. This includes designing hedges. Monitoring the hedges on a monthly basis to ensure that they remain within required tolerances Attributing the performance of hedges and benchmarks each quarter to feed into the quarterly client reporting process. Monitoring of value at risk for accounting, regulatory, client reporting and internal management purposes. This is both for individual clients and across funds managed by our captive investment manager. Calculation of performance fees for individual clients Building up relationships with our third party LDI managers Reviewing risk and LDI sections of client IMAs. Contributing to the formulation of investment policy for the DCS portfolio managers Maintaining and building models to allow for changes in market environment. Ensuring that the models are fit for purpose, scalable and user friendly. In particular they will contribute to the maintenance and upgrading of the following models; Performance tool, Attribution tool,Hedge design tool, Monthly Monitoring tool, VaR tools. You bring skills & expertise Experience in asset management, investment consultancy (or an allied industry) with a significant exposure to LDI. Numerical ability and analytical skills Advanced ability in Excel and VBA including experience of developing and maintaining analytical models. Good knowledge of controls and monitoring / verification techniques. Understanding of all major asset classes including an in depth knowledge of derivatives. An in depth knowledge of the characteristics of pension scheme liabilities Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external clients. Ability to present succinct findings and necessary actions from complex monitoring and modelling work DCS, also more generically known fiduciary management, is a service offered by Aon. It is delivered via an FCA authorised asset management business set up within Aon (HRMSL). Clients are typically invested in a range of in-house Irish QIFS, segregated pooled vehicles for illiquid assets and a tailored LDI fund.
