Fixed term 12- 15 month contract for Maternity cover. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), you will lead the Management Accounts and Accounts payable functions which comprises of 4 divisional reporting teams (each with 1 direct report) and a centralised accounts payable function (reporting via the divisional reporting team). Total headcount of teams c20 employees. Your Role * To ensure accurate divisional financial reporting and related management information to CAO, Group CFO and Divisional CFOS and to ensure delivery of the centralised accounts payable function for the consolidated UK business * Build positive relationships with the CAO, Group CFO, Divisional CFOs, Corporate Accounting team (US based), acting as key contact during month end close * Ensure delivery of internal and external audit information to assist in management of resolution of audit queries * Monitor KPIs and take action to address areas of underperformance in teams * Ensure accuracy over all legal entity balance sheets via reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts and lead the team to production of monthly and year-to-date variance analysis to budget on P&L * Review of quarterly Board Reporting packs and review of legal entity position in conjunction with Statutory Accounts Finance Manager * Ensuring operational efficiency of off-shore processing team to control posting of month end journal transactions and balance sheet review * Liaising with other key non finance stakeholders for the business and linkage with other Finance departments out with Management Accounts team * Review and approval of Annual Budget alongside Divisional CFOs/CAO for Finance * Pro-actively drive forward change to ensure that department and team members improve, supporting managerial development and ensuring graduates/part qualified students and direct reports for managers are supported in their development * Ensure SOX requirements are fully met and provide managerial responses for Internal audit report for CAO where necessary * Produce ad-hoc reports and completion of technical tasks for the CAO, Group CFO, FP&A director, Corporate etc. as requested * Support Senior Finance Manager in Acquisitions team in integration planning, acquisition on-boarding and BAU implementation * Manage effectively the resource, strategic goals and direction of the Management Accounts and Accounts payable team with support from CAO. Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications: * University Degree * CA qualification with at least 10 years post qualification experience * US GAAP Experience preferable but not essential * Experience of implementing new processes and/or controls/projects * Strong leadership and ability to priority manage and adhere to challenging deadlines * ensuring attention to detail is maintained * Ability to adapt to change and change manage teams * Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments * Process redesign and implementation * Exposure to senior individuals and understanding of repo reporting requirements * Proactive approach * Strong people management and development skills * Strong organisational/influencing skills * Experience of M&A environment/acquisitive business and integration implementation What we offer you: We want Gallagher to be the organisation that all our people are proud to be a part of and where everyone can call themselves one of our team.
