Job Description
**Position Objective:** Manage complex, critical and cross-functional projects and existing processes required to achieve best practice and regulatory compliance across Trading Book Market Risk responsibilities including product taxonomy, identification and permission management, product and model approvals, risk analysis and capital optimisation, limit management. _Reporting Line:_ The role reports to the Head of Permitted Product Management, which sits within the Global Market Risk team. The role will be part of a team of 12 but will work closely within the broader Global Market Risk team of over 100 Market Risk Managers, as well as with colleagues in other Risk Teams, the Front Office and other control areas. **Key Responsibilities:** Manage both new Market Risk initiatives/projects and existing Market Risk Management controls including: + Product taxonomy evolution, governance and management across Business and Control Functions + Product permission management and governance including new product/model approval request review + Implementation of transaction level standardized product identification + Product Permission compliance control governance + Work with other functions to leverage the product taxonomy and permission framework to facilitate other initiatives and regulatory requirements (e.g. FRTB); + Interpretation and implementation of new regulatory requirements impacting Market Risk and Product Permission Management/New Product Approval (including enhanced Derivatives and Securities-based Financing Transactions risk management processes, infrastructure and controls); + Provide on-going guidance and training in relation to product taxonomy and permission management and the control processes; governing them; + Large, Complex and illiquid trade controls management and evolution + Communication of Market Risk and Product Permission governance to senior management **Job Qualifications:** **Knowledge/Experience:** + Extensive years experience engaging with Global Financial Markets trading businesses in Risk, Front Office, Finance, Compliance, Legal or Operations; + Good knowledge of financial instruments (including securities, secured financing, securitization, and derivative products), risk metrics and Market Risk Management + Proficient analytical, technical and quantitative skills + A proven track record in driving results and organising projects, working in, or leading, a team + Experience of working with, and specifying requirements for, business technology solutions. + Good understanding of key risk and control considerations for a global trading business. + Experience of working under pressure and with complexity and uncertainty **Skills/Competencies:** + Ability to quickly identify, analyze and understand a problem, with a big picture approach as well as attention to detail, and propose and implement appropriate innovative and pragmatic solutions. + A self-starter with the initiative, adaptability and drive multiple deliverables concurrently to a very high standard. + Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentational). Confident and credible in a meeting forum with senior management, to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging (both verbal and written). + Good influencing skills with ability to gain consensus and agreement across many disparate functions, products and geographies. + Must have ability to stay ahead in a constantly changing environment. Must be an agent for change, ensuring others understand current direction. + Aptitude and energy to translate strategy into execution in a complex and cross-functional control framework. + Individual should be control-focused with strong attention to detail and follow-up, but also team-oriented, flexible, with have good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task. + Must be able to cope with being 'thrown in at the deep end' and have the initiative to figure out next steps. **Qualifications:** University degree in quantitative or financial discipline This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
