Job Description

CGL Jigsaw is the young person & family drug and alcohol service for Nottingham City, we work with young people up to the age of 18 offering support and advice around substance misuse, and we work with anyone who is impacted by someone else's use, we offer a range of interventions, including one to one, brief interventions, group work, peer support, whole family interventions to name a few. We work holistically, and work closely with local partners to ensure a multi agency approach. We are looking for dynamic and passionate individuals who want to have a positive impact on the resilience building of young people in our city. As a Schools Transition volunteer you will paired with a young person in the last year of primary school, and support them for 6 sessions with ongoing monthly visits for the remainder of their time at primary school and then into their first year of secondary school. You will be provided with a resource pack to ensure that you are well equipped to work with the young people and training with ongoing support from the team at CGL Jigsaw. This role will be particularly beneficial for those looking for experience in schools and working with young people. It is essential that those applying for this post are happy to work one to one with young people. You will be working with young people in Nottingham Schools to build their resilience and reduce any anxieties the may hav around going to secondary school.
