Job Description
We're looking for an experienced, well qualified candidate to fulfil this business critical position, Managing a team of 3, This is a challenging and busy role requiring an individual with a proven track record who will ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental matters are not only maintained but continually improved and developed. Key responsibilities will include the following to ensure: + Driving a positive Health and Safety culture through employee engagement + Regularly review the health, safety and environmental strategy identifying opportunity for improvement across the organisation + To produce an annual budget for projected spend on health, safety and environmental matters + To ensure that appropriate induction, and health, safety and environmental training is completed in a timely manner across the organisation + Be operationally responsible for all audits and inspections,including ISO14001,OHSAS18001 and ISO45001 + To take a lead on all major incidents and follow up on remedial actions + Supporting Managers on accident investigation, and dangerous occurrences and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence + Supporting the business with all health, safety and environmental issues on modifications and installations + Liaising with relevant authorities,including Enviromental Permit Office + Assisting Managers with the suitability of contractors and checking method statements, risk assessment and training records + Providing guidance to Senior Managers on our health, safety and environmental obligations to ensure the business remains compliant + Provision of statistics, trend analysis and recommendations to Senior Mangers + Effectively manage improvement campaigns and initiatives + Maintaining ands continually improving the ISO14001 standard and OHSAS18001 and ISO45001 standards. Experience and Qualifications + Proven experience in a HSE Management role, preferably within a fast moving manufacturing environment + A NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma or Grad IOSH status + Associate or Practitioner Membership status of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment + Fire Safety Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management experience + Auditing qualification or proven experience + Training qualification or good experience + Incident investigation and data analysis skills and experience + Ideally hold a working knowledge of safety programmes + Ability to build relationships and make safety a topic which can be respected and enjoyed + Possession of key competencies including excellent communication skills, organisation and decision-making skills + Expierence with ISO14001,OHSAS18001 and ISO45001 Benefits + 25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday + Competitive Salary + Employee Reward Scheme + Flexible working hours + Free parking + Pension Scheme ID: 2019-21535 Shift Schedule: Day Manages Others: Yes External Company Name: The Weir Group PLC External Company URL: www.weirminerals.com Street: Weir Minerals, Halifax Road, Todmorden, West Yorks
