RoleSummary: The Maintenance Technician - Mechanical is responsible for all maintenance and repair of plant and equipment and installation of new machinery. This position will work a shift rota pattern which includes days, back and night shift working. EssentialResponsibilities: + Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment andcomputer numerical control systems including axis/spindle drivesystems + Repairsproduction machines and plant as requested to ensure minimum downtime. + Assistwhen required in relation to installation of machines and plant to ensuretheir safe operation in accordance with manufacturer's specifications fromthe point of installation onwards + OperatingMaintenance Management System to create & execute work orders andusing historical records to assist repairs. + Ensuringall maintenance operations are carried out in accordance with qualityspecifications + Assistingother Maintenance engineers / technicians to carry out their tasks whenrequired. + Whenunsupervised taking responsibility of the security of maintenancedepartment. + Responsiblefor ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with all HSErequirements and procedures. + AnyOther Duties as Required Qualifications/Requirements: + SchoolCertificates or equivalent + HNCin Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or relevant experience working ina maintenance department supporting production and/or manufacture. + Mechanicalexperience working in a maintenance department supporting productionand/or manufacture. + Ability to read and comprehend hydraulic, pneumatic & machineschematic diagrams. + Ability to read and comprehend instructions, manuals,correspondence, and memos. + Skillsin the use of Microsoft Office e-mail + Problemsolving skills + Communicationskills Desired Characteristics: + Timeserved engineer + Knowledgeof Maintaining & servicing machine tools including CNC/NCMachines. Mechanical knowledge of machine tools.
