Key Objective: To support the VP of Tax Strategy and VP of Tax Business Support through managing Pearson's International business taxes and international project based work which advances Pearson's global tax strategy. Key Responsibilities: Provide day to day tax support to Pearson's businesses and support local financial controllers in new business initiatives, supply chain and contracting models and local tax audits. Provide support on the international aspects of acquisitions, disposals and reorganisations for regional group businesses. Provide support for global group tax planning initiatives, forecasting and projects which support Pearson's overall tax strategy. Work effectively with other sub-teams in the tax function including the US, transfer pricing, indirect tax and employment tax sub-teams. Build relationships with regional business and finance leaders, and other non-tax stakeholders as a trusted business partner. Identify and implement regional value adding tax opportunities. Advise on tax efficient financing and repatriations for the region, including implementation of in-house bank initiative. Proactively identify, manage and mitigate regional and group tax risks. Monitor legislative developments, evaluate implications and application to Pearson. Responsible for review of the local finance teams' year-end tax reporting and accounting for the region. Graduate, or equivalent, with a professional qualification (accounting or legal). Previous experience at the Tax Manager level or above in core cross-border tax issues and associated tax accounting, preferably with relevant commercial tax exposure. Broad up to date knowledge of international tax, ideally including experience managing overseas tax issues and of relevant UK tax law Ability to interact with all levels and parts of an organisation including Treasury, Legal, Finance and Business and to manage advisers. A proactive, enthusiastic, team oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good project management experience and expertise. Strong organisational skills and documentation skills. Flexible to travel, if required. #LI-NM
