Position Summary Why join our team... The European Treasury Centre (RTC) has responsibility for operating and controlling all of the major treasury activities for the 47 entities in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Our team is integral to the global treasury function and is at the forefront of developments within this increasingly strategic area. Whether it is handling the banking requirements, arranging funding for the business or managing financial risk, it is an exciting environment to be working in! What this role will achieve... The Senior Treasury Analyst (STA) is a key role within the treasury team and will have responsibility for providing an efficient Front Office service to support the Subsidiaries. The STA will mainly be responsible for leading the FX exposure of the Subsidiaries and optimising the use of the cash pools to maximise the return on surplus cash. This will be achieved by executing FX trades and managing liquidity in accordance with strict HQ guidelines. In addition, they will be required to analyse data and produce reports for Senior Management which can be used to support strategic decisions. In this role, the STA will have significant exposure to our counterparty banks and will be working closely with all our Subsidiaries across the EMEA region conducting Internal Audits to ensure they align with our RTC guidelines. Role and Responsibilities What will be your key deliverables? FX Management: Manage FX exposure for 30 Subsidiaries in 20 currencies. Monitor Subsidiaries hedging coverage and verify that it complies with Samsung FX policy. Execute Forward FX hedging deals (600 trades per month). Execute Spot FX deals (200 trades per month). Cash Management: Manage the cash for 30 Subsidiaries in 9 currencies by analyzing the daily cash forecast data from the subsidiaries and treasury/ banking systems. Calculate the estimated daily closing cash position of the 60 pooling bank accounts. Invest surplus funds in Government Bonds, Bank Deposits and High Yield accounts totaling approx, with the aim of improving gross income while ensuring adequate future liquidity. Drawdown loans from bank facilities to meet short term funding requirements. Utilize the cash pooling structures to ensure the benefit to the RTC. The FX and cash pooling management must be performed within strict external deadlines that vary depending on the country, time zone, currency, bank, system and amount. The numerous deadlines have to be met otherwise financial penalties will be incurred on behalf of the Subsidiaries. The STA will be working closely with the Treasury Manager-Front Office on actively handling the FX and Cash Pooling activities. Reporting: Treasury Reports - work closely with other RTC members to complete the Monthly Treasury Report as well as any other reports requested by HQ in a timely manner. Alternatives strategies - work closely with other RTC members on reviewing and recommending alternative cash & FX management strategies. Daily Liquidity Report - prepare and submit the end of day liquidity report to HQ. Treasury Audit: Conduct on-site Treasury Audit on subsidiaries premises to ensure that entities are in compliance with company policies and procedures. Identify areas of improvements and agree an implementation plan to solve any outstanding issues, including target dates for completion. The role will also cover Economic Reporting: Financial Market Update - prepare daily financial market report. Be the Subject Matter Authority when it comes to explain financial market key developments Skills and Qualifications What we need for this role Soft Skills: + Strong attention to detail and an ability to coordinate multiple streams of work; keep things on track while consistently meeting tight deadlines. + Self-aware, reflective, able to learn from mistakes, open to critical feedback, and an ability to learn quickly while on the job and through formal training. + Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people at all levels. + Ability to work quickly, accurately and consistently. + Initiative and motivation to address issues without being asked to do so and a pro-active approach. Hard Skills: + Ideally 1-2 years of Corporate Treasury experience at a multinational, with a good understanding of Front, Middle & Back Office processes. + Bachelor Degree (Finance/ Business degree preferred), 2:1 or above + Strong written and spoken English to a professional level. + MS Office skills with Excel advanced level (understanding of macros will be a plus) + Availability to undertake travel overseas (at least 1 per month) + Previous exposure to SAP, Electronic Banking systems (i.e. Citidirect) and FX & Money Market Dealing platforms (i.e. FXAll, 360T), would be an advantage. + Good understanding of the Financial Markets. * Please visit Samsung membership at to see Privacy Policy, which defaults according to your location.
