Job Description
Curator, India -3 months (London) The Curator position on the Curation team calls for a skilled, senior curator of digital media, capable of quickly and accurately identifying the best English Twitter content from across India in Tweets, photos, and videos. The ideal candidate has a good grasp of a variety of mainstream topics and, in addition, a deep understanding of one or more mainstream content verticals (News, Politics, Sports, Entertainment, etc.) and has experience collecting Tweets in order to narrate and explain a story around a theme in those areas. As a member of our global curation team, this hire will use those skills to present unique content experiences in real-time to Twitter users. This individual must also be a strong communicator, both offline and online, who is a team player and excited to collaborate with and learn from colleagues around the world who have different points of view and areas of expertise. This person would an experienced member of the Curation team, able to guide and support more junior colleagues, lead coverage efforts around events in which they have expertise and collaborate on more complex projects with other local and international team members. Success in this role is measured by: * Identifying events, conversations and emerging trends that will drive unique content experiences * Curating live streams of Twitter content across various topics * Weaving stories from Tweets to create compelling, narratively-driven Moments * Working quickly and under time pressure without sacrificing accuracy * Communicating early, clearly, and often when collaborating on short and long-term assignments with local as well as global colleagues * Providing incisive feedback on use of internal tools * Bringing expertise of and judicious analysis to one or more content areas (News, Politics, Sports, Entertainment, etc.) * Helping to shape curation strategy around global events, conversations, and trending topics in one or more content areas, especially Breaking News, Politics, Sports, or Entertainment * Taking a local as well as global leadership role on the team, training and mentoring less experienced, newer curators * Looking for areas of improvement, regularly suggesting new ideas to streamline curation process, bolster curator training, and finetune content consistency and accuracy * Seeking out opportunities to collaborate globally as well as cross-functionally * Recognizing gaps in coverage by monitoring metrics, user comments and behavior and developing new potential content opportunities and case studies Qualifications: * Work experience: 4+ years of experience working in journalism and social media - * Deep knowledge of one or more content areas (News, Politics, Sports, Entertainment, etc.) * Experience curating Tweets in real-time and for publishing * Extensive experience using Twitter as a reporting tool for multiple media outlets * Experience with newsgathering tools such as Tweetdeck and Dataminr * Education: BA/BS degree required * Ability to read and write in at least one Indian language PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR CV IN ENGLISH We are committed to an inclusive and diverse Twitter.
