Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) Bristol We are currently recruiting for a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our Engineering business, supporting projects in the West Midlands based from our offices in Sheldon. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for implementing best commercial practices to maintain and maximise the profitability and financial performance of the project by; minimising costs, managing cash-flow, mitigating risks, managing variations and claims all to provide a smooth transition into agreement of our and our supply chains final accounts. All to be presented back to the business through accurate and timely reporting. Responsibilities * Team Management - Manage and coach any Quantity Surveyors/Assistant Quantity Surveyors to ensure that productivity is maximised, all tasks are appropriately assigned and individual development/betterment is promoted. * Risk Management - Review and interpret the Contract terms and conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities, record any specific risks and opportunities this may expose NG Bailey to. Be responsible for the commercial mitigation or enhancement of risks and opportunities and ensure they are factored into all commercial reporting. * Financial Management - Be responsible for cash flow forecasting and the submission of applications for payment, with appropriate substantiation of both the level of Contract works complete and Variations. Ensure cash is received by NG Bailey in accordance with the Contract. * Subcontract Management - Assist with procurement and manage subcontractors from Invitation to Tender through to final account agreement in accordance with the Subcontract Agreement, supported by a Commercial Manager where necessary. * Contract Administration - Ensure NG Bailey complies with all aspects of the Contract and that any entitlement is not lost due to a failure to do so. Advise the Project team of the mechanisms and processes set out in the Contract to ensure the team understands where any such entitlement could be lost. * Cost & Value Forecasting - Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the Project life cycle and at completion.Ensure that all internal Project reports are accurate in respect of costs incurred, projection of costs to spend, contingency, liabilities, forecast sales and margin. * Stakeholder Relations - Develop/maintain positive long-term relationships with stakeholders by understanding their requirements and ensuring that objectives are defined with the project team(s). Lead commercial team/area under control to deliver against these objectives, ensure customer satisfaction and maintain sustainable stakeholder relationships. * Change Management - Identify, quantify and manage the agreement process of any changes to NG Bailey's contractual obligations. Ensure that no un-authorised change is incorporated into our works. Both upstream with our customer and downstream with our supply chain. * Final Account Settlement - Be responsible for final account submissions that capture NG Bailey's full entitlement under the Contract. Work alongside the Project team and Commercial Manager to negotiate settlement of the final account at that level. Facilitate final sign off in accordance with the Delegated Authorities Matrix. Requirements You will have: * Significant experience of responsibility for the commercial aspects of small to medium M&E projects, or experience of responsibility for the commercial aspects of medium to large M&E projects * Relevant BSC / degree / equivalent (or willingness to work towards) * JCT Contract & Commercial experience.
