Overview: The job - Associate Director, IT Architecture - IQVIA BI Hosting Platform Data Services About the Team: The IQVIA BI Hosting Platform is a multi-purpose, multi-tenant platform supporting a range of SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and DaaS (Data as a Service) offerings to our Global Lifesciences clients. The platform supports over 60 countries across the globe, delivering access and visual content to a wide range of IQVIA data. The team that designs and builds this expanding Platform are based in multiple locations and cover a range of skills and experience. We are looking for an experienced SQL and SSAS team leader who can drive enhanced delivery of correctly structured data solution to optimally utilise the tools we support on the Platform. Role purpose: * Work closely with Global and Local teams to support the optimisation of data structure design to enable delivery of data to supported technologies (PowerBI and MicroStrategy Dossier) * Troubleshoot existing data structure designs where they do not deliver the expected results and support the data source designers in implementing changes to their designs * Provide technical mentoring to members of the BI Hosting Management team and Local Office IT teams as required. * Be a critical member in shaping the objectives and strategies of the combined Service Management Team, through working very closely with infrastructure architect, platform architect, programme manager and product management team. * Provide input and guidance for both application and service roadmap and lifecycles. * Provide optimal process design, solution and architectural oversight, and implementation guidance to the BI Hosting data engineering team. * Principal accountabilities: * Maintain and apply a deep and detailed understanding of the IQVIA BI Hosting Platform and its tools and services. * Maintain and apply a deep technical knowledge of SQL Server SSAS Muli-dimensional and Tabular functionalities including MDX and DAX * Be a subject matter expert on PowerBI * Review and critique plans and technical designs associated with IQVIA BI Hosting service tools delivery. * Provide innovative insights and suggestions for enhancing working methodologies, service offerings designs and client delivery solutions. * Provide 3rd line support for critical issues with BI Hosting service data structures * Partner with Business Units to ensure successful utilisation of Platform Services through the optimal delivery of well-structured data Our ideal candidate will have: Required Technical Skills * Microsoft Enterprise stack (SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, SharePoint etc) * Detailed knowledge of SQL Server SSAS for Multi-dimensional and Tabular * Strong skills in MDX and DAX * Detailed knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI structure and utilisation * Knowledge of MicroStrategy Dossier structure and utilisation * Strong understanding of ITIL concepts * Demonstrable success in leading the delivery of high-volume repeatable data structures * Demonstrable track record of delivering innovative solutions in an enterprise delivery environment * Experience in delivering projects using Agile methodologies Required Personal Skills * Experience of managing within a multi-functional team based in multiple locations across the globe * Strong interpersonal skills with proven success working within a team environment * Excellent troubleshooting and optimisation skills coupled with strong end user support skills * Ability to manage multiple parallel processes, understanding the dependencies and interrelations between them, with strong change management and environment management We know that meaningful results require not only the right approach but also the right people .
